It might sound cool to do that trendy thing for a few days, but if you actually want to scale it up, you’re going to have to put hours into debugging, building several prototype, and countless interviews describing over and over againw hat your project is. So, before I start doing any projects, I make sure that I could talk about them for hours, debug them until my parents tell me to go to sleep, and actually putting in the hours when nobody is watching.

Thanks for reading! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.

Another takeaway I have is to build something that is actually useful for others and will help them. I once read an article where Paul Graham says that many startups and projects start because somebody really wants to build something so they try to find the problem. However, he said that you should first find a problem that actually affects people and then solve it, not backwards.

Lastly, this month I’ve learnt to think in a moonshot type of way, the same they do in The Moonshot Factory. Like, imagine Waymo, they had a problem : too many car accidents, and many people would think that to solve that we could probably put more security on the roads or make drivers more prepared or something normal and surface level like that. However, they thought of making Autonomous Vehicles. So I believe that if you got an idea, it’s good to apply that 10x and moonshot type of thinking and mindset.

Projects

Here’ were my April monthly goals from the March monthly newsletter :

Get a clear 2d map using SLAM , LiDAR, and ROS for my research ( That the map can clearly show couches, tables, the floor…)

Keep building in silence ( coding projects and research)

Achieve 60 subscribers on my STEM YouTube channel

3D Print Iron Man Mask

I did 2 of them ( #1 and #2)

However, that doesn’t mean this month was slow or anything. In the contrary it was my most productive month ever and I learnt so much.

LiDAR + SLAM. +Synthica

This month, I got into Synthica as an independent researcher. I was already doing research but this pushed me to meet deadlines and get help with formatting.

I’ve been getting some serious progress done and the deadline to get this published is still July 3rd. I genially believe I can get this published even earlier, since I’m already almost done with my first draft. Will see how it goes but it’s looking good for now.

Efficient aviation

I built an algorithm in January that recalculated routes for airplanes. I forgot about it until I presented it in my school’s community showcase. Now, it’s almost my top #1 project. I’m researching, building, coding, and working on this non stop every day. More to come in May + talking to some important space companies ( and visits to some of them in person)

Autonomous Rover

Me and my startup are building an autonomous robot that uses LiDAR and a camera to secure national parks in Canada. We’re still working, but I’m learning so much and having so much fun staying until 5pm in Deloitte at TKS building, coding, and working. It’s genially the best and maybe the highlight of the week. Much more to come on May (trust)

Zombie video game

In the midsts of all these crazy big projects, I had to give some time to fun pygame projects that are fun to do on a Sunday and that you can play when you’re bored. I’ll get it live soon hopefully 🙏

Highlight of the Month

This month, so many exciting things happened like math competitions ( they’re soo fun), getting a robot actually autonomous, launching my personal website, getting in Synthica for research, and working on my aviation project.

However, one thing tops it all. The Artemis II Mission. I was in a public library doing HL math homework and I was connected to a meeting with other space nerds like me and it was genially the best experience ever and so mind blowing seeing history live. I want to be part of that in the future, going up there to the moon, making it into an airport, sending robots over there, it’s my dream. I also finished building the Mars Rover LEGO last month and that process pushed me more towards space tech and innovation. The Artemis II mission was a great point for humanity, being able to come back to the moon with better technology and to prove safety of long term habitation so we can explore Mars. It was also so cool seeing what the astronauts were doing and explaining what they say like the craters, rocks, and the earth.

Goals for May

Get drone prototype for aviation project + present it to implement in real life

Get the first prototype of rover finished ( autonomous system + AI detection)

Get 3rd draft of research done with

Anyways that’s it for this month, it was packed with math competitions, showcases, presentations, interviews, and projects. It’s kind of crazy how the next time I’ll have a Monthly Newsletter will be in may, time moves on so fast, I still remember when I wrote the first one in November.

Thanks for reading! I can’t believe it’s been so long since my first newsletter. Anyways, let’s take a dive into what I’ve learnt this month, some of my projects, and a few takeaways.

Thanks for reading! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.

Takeaways of March

This month, my biggest takeaway is to work in silence and not tell others too much about what you work on. Obviously it’s good to tell a few so you get feedback and their opinions. But, I mostly mean that it’s better to not say too much than to brag. I once read ( I think it’s called “ Why introverts have an advantage) that bragging to much is not good because it makes your brain feel like it already accomplished the task, so you won’t have any motivation left to actually do it.

So, I put it into action this month. I didn’t post too much about my work since I’d knew it would distract me.

Second of all, professors are really useful. When I get stuck on a problem, I email a few professors so that they can explain to me concepts and how to apply them to my work. It shows that high school students like me are just one email away from connecting with a professors that has so much knowledge in your field of study.

Miami - Waymo, Serve Robotics, and Frost Museum of Science

I went to Miami during the spring break and it made me realize how much Miami and the US are pushing robots more and more into the day to day life.

In the streets, there are just Waymo’s circling around until somebody books them and Serve Robotics delivering food to people in the streets.

One of my favourite moments was when I tried out the Waymo with my family and I could see the sterring wheel turning around by itself. It was also really interesting because I actually know how they work and I’m working with LiDAR and SLAM. So, I understood to a certain degree how hard this was to do and how advanced our world had gotten.

I also went to the Frost Museum and saw a really big periodic table and a show of the space which showed the planets, Mars, and the ocean.

Starred projects

I know I said I wouldn’t talk to o much about my work but since it’s my newsletter and I spend most of my month working on projects I love, I’ll incorporate it.

LiDAR + SLAM

This month, I decided to stop taking on random projects and instead hyper focus on one or two main things. One of my main interests has been to find the intersection between robotics and space. So, I’ve been working for this full month on mapping out my robots environment using RPLiDAR C1, so I can use it to detect objects in space at a low cost.

I won’t lie, it hasn’t been easy. Going from Arduino Robots to LiDAR and SLAM is definitely a big transition but I want to do it and I’m learning every day.

Iron Man Mask

This month, I’ve been working a lot with 3D printing and CAD designs. When I did my TKS Hackathon with my startup, I was in charge of 3D printing and helping with CAD to build our surveillance camera. So, when we finished the hackathon, I spent a few days working and built a CAD design of an Iron Man Mask. My goal is to be able to 3D print this in April.

Coding Projects

I’ve also been doing some coding projects on the side where I haven’t put my full attention but I’ve still spent time with them.

First off, I integrated AI into a calculator using a Gemini API key. My next step will be to be able to implement it into an actual calculator.

Also, I’ve been building a video game where a user has to shoot at zombies in order to eliminate them. I built a video game in February and wanted to keep going since I love pygame and it’s so fun to do in my free time.

Goals for April

My main goals for April are these. :

Get a clear 2d map using SLAM , LiDAR, and ROS for my research ( That the map can clearly show couches, tables, the floor…)

Keep building in silence ( coding projects and research)

Achieve 60 subscribers on my STEM YouTube channel

3D Print Iron Man Mask

Anyways, that’s it for March and I’ll see you all in April. Bye! 🚀

Thanks for reading! I love STEM, robotics, AI, coding, and the space. In this newsletter I come and tell you my projects, my challenges, reflections, what I want to accomplish next month in March, and events. I hope you enjoy!

Reflections

I normally start my newsletters with my achievements and projects but February was more about reflecting about my decisions instead of just building.

Thanks for reading! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.

I’ve gotten 2 big takeaways this month, the first one is that I really need to focus more on what is beneficial for me instead of doing everything.

For example, this month was full, I had no weekends to stay at home and work on projects that are a passion for me. That is because I did a lot of events and conferences and trips. Although that’s fun, I look back and realize I haven’t built much this month because I spread myself too thin and didn’t take time for the important projects.

So, for March I’m going to put my max, 100% focus towards my main goal : robotics.

I want to build so many robots, so so so so many. I want to build robots related to tech, using AI, using cameras, drones… And I cannot do that if I have my calendar packed with activities. I’m glad I realized this earlier because I realized how dismotivated I was to do anything since it wasn’t helping me towards my main goal, doing robotics. And I’m not saying that everyone should just do one thing, I agree that everyone needs to do a bit of everything, but I also agree that I need to focus and narrow my time and energy into one thing and the rest for other stuff.

My other takeaway is to stop comparing myself to other’s on LinkedIn and instead to build quietly.

I feel as if LinkedIn is supposed to be an app for people to find jobs, but it’s not. Instead, it’s about others showing their work and their achievements. I’m not saying that’s completely wrong, but I do feel as if I need to stop going to that platform in order to just focus on myself and not others.

I recently heard this quote that said that those who are very ahead are mostly just loud about their accomplishments and only 10% of those are actually ahead. I don’t know if I completely agree with that. I just know that I learnt a lesson, I don’t always need to tell everyone everything about my projects and I definitely should not brag. Now, I’m not just going to be completely silent since I want to share my projects in my YouTube videos and on Substack and mediums so others learn and I do too. But, I don’t have to always tell everyone what I’m doing since I won’t get much from it.

Anyways, those we’re definitely my 2 biggest takeaways from this month that I will carry my whole entire life.

Adventure

Anyways, let’s move on to something else. I said that my month was packed with activities, but you guys don’t even know what I’m talking about.

Tech TO

To start of, I went to Tech Toronto conference. It feels amazing to be part of this group of passionate, entrepreneurs in the science and tech industries. They’re all building amazing products and most of them could become a billion dollar ideas. I met people who worked with Sam Altman or who we’re applying for Y Combinator. I enjoyed being in this environment since I once heard that in order to be successful, you need to study successful people. Therefore, being with them allowed me to see how they think, talk, problem solve, and build.

I also got to network and connect with them since I recently started a start up with a few of my friends in TKS about tech defence. Although, I didn’t find much success in investors since most of them only invest in start ups where people work 24/7 on them, I still got the name of our company out. I realized that the best thing about the startup I have with a few of the other co founders is that our age is our strong but weak tool at the same time. It looks good when you hear a 15 year old talking about a defence tech start up but at the same time you don’t want to invest since you don’t take it seriously. This has shifted my perspective and motivated me to focus 100% on this startup with my other cofounders to prove other’s wrong and to make a dent in the defence/tech industry.

DECA Provincials

My first newsletter was in November, and that’s when I completed my regionals PBM ( Principle’s of Business Management and Administration) for DECA and got into provincials.

I went to the Sheraton from the 5th of February to the 7th in order to compete for provincials and it didn’t go amazingly. I didn’t qualify for ICDC ( International Career Development Conference) But, I still learned a lot about the business world and it’s funny because if it wasn’t for the stress that there was an event, I probably wouldn’t have dived deep into business for a while. I now feel as if I have a deeper knowledge on how to run companies, how they work, and the fundamentals of business.

I’m not sure if I think it was too good for me as it was for others though, since I could’ve spent the weekend coding, building, and researching. However, I believe that I have to try a bit of everything so at least I did it and I’ll probably go again next year.

Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award Trip

The duke of Ed award is a global youth program for teenagers and young adults ( 14 years old to 24) It allows you to build life skills, confidence, resilience, and strengh.

There are 3 levels : bronze, silver, and gold

I completed the bronze already by doing 13 hours of physical recreation ( I had to work for a time period of 6 month once every week for one hour on a physical goal ( I chose to do 100 kick ups for soccer)), I completed 13 hours of volunteering ( Once a week I would coach little kids soccer), and 13 hours of a skill ( reading in english to improve my vocabulary) On top of that, I completed in Switzerland with my last school a trip in the mountains and with my current school a canoeing trip in June ( you’re supposed to do 1 but I switched schools so it was a bit of a mess)

Now, for silver I’ve stepped up the game a little bit. For my physical goal, I have to score 10/10 3 pointer’s in basketball. Then, for my skill, I need to code once every week for 1 hour during the next 6 months in FTC sim in order to improve coding skills and be ready for FTC competitions as well as readiness for the club next year. For my volunteering, I peer mentor kids after school once a week for the next 6 months.

Then, from February 18th to February 22nd, I had my silver duke of ed trip. It was very transformative, adventurous, and weird. It was weird because I couldn’t check my gmails, code, get work done, or talk to my parents or friends or mentors for 5 days. I woke up in a cabin in Algonquin park, cooked in the cold, washed the dishes in the cold, packed the toboggans, walk through ice with snow shoes, and do cross country skiing. I had so much time to think and reflect about this month and that is where my 2 main takeaways from this month come from. Walking in the ice on a lake for 1 hour gives you a lot of time to think about everything. I feel as if that was the best part of the trip and also the fact that I learnt winter survival skills. For example how to pack toboggans, make a fire, put tents up, make a hole in a lake to get drinkable water ( boil it to get bacteria out)…

It’s also pretty cool because it was uncomfortable to wake up in the freezing cold at 6 am and walk for hours while pushing the sleeping tents through the ice. But, now that I’ve done it, I look back and thank myself for going through that because I’ve had once in a lifetime opportunity in completing winter camping, something that might be impossible in the years to come.

Anyways, I’m looking to complete and receive my silver award before June 2026 and to go on my Gold Award trip fall of 2026, wish me luck!

Skiing trip

I started skiing when I was 4 years old in a ski club in Andorra, where I used to live. I’ll be honest, I never really liked it because I would be dragged every weekend of winter to ski the same mountains over and over again. But, when I came to Canada, I stopped skiing because its too far, expensive..

We went for 2 days to ski during the long weekend, and one of the first things I did when I put my skis for the first time in 2 years was go to a black slope ( the hardest slopes) and just do it. That was my mindset the whole trip, just go off - piste, just do another slope that’s challenging, just do that scary jump, just do it. I believe that reflects who I am.

SHAD

On December during the winter break, most people would’ve been spending their time with family and relaxing. I also did that but I also took the time to write my SHAD application so it stands out, so it reflects who I actually am, and so I get a chance to go to a top university in Canada this summer in July in order to learn STEM and network. And…

I GOT IN! I was really happy and I can’t wait to spend one month during the summer of 2026 building robots, doing labs, going on adventures, meeting professors, and living the university life.

More to come!

Summer

I feel as if summer is not a time to relax that much. My summer is packed with SHAD, SAT prep, IB prep, and I’m looking for an internship on August.

To be honest, I don’t hold back from reaching out to companies or people when they say they want people with degrees or in college. Like, what’s the worst that can happen? 9/10 people say no and 1/10 say maybe? I’m willing to take those chances. I hope I get to go to the back room of a company where I admire their work and I learn from their employees, the way they think, tackle a problem, and to network with them. The thing I care the less about is the money. I’d so want to go for a whole month for hours to a robotics start up, get 0 money, and learn lots and lots.

I’ll keep cold emailing people, learn from others, and stay on high alert for any opportunities

More to come!

Projects

Alright now, as I said before, I haven’t built much this month and that is very disappointing to me. But, I still built some stuff.

Spacecraft Lander video game 🎮

Check out my medium article and my YouTube video where I show you my video game! I decided to merge the topics I like the most, physics, space, and coding in order to create a very fun game! I coded it in Visual code studio and it was a great learning opportunity. I also published it which felt crazy because anybody can now play a game I created, crazy.

4 robots in 24 hours

I’ve been thinking of transitioning from Arduino to Raspberry Pi, so I decided to give a goodbye to Arduino for a little bit in order to build harder projects. So, I’ve built 4 simple Arduino robots : a system that the door opens when a car is detected, an LED blinking light system, a garbage where the lid opens when it detects trash, and a surveillance camera system where an LED starts blinking if it detects a human/objects. I also filmed myself building live the surveillance camera so others can build it at the same time as me and feel more encouraged.

Space Lander

I’ve decided to focus a little bit on space this month, so I’ve been working on this system where I drop a 3D printed box and when it detects it’s falling, a parachute opens it. I‘m building it in TinkerCad but I’ll probably switch to OnShape later on.

TKS X UN - Challenge

I talked briefly about the UN cattle tracking system where I had the chance to work with a wonderful team thanks to TKS ( I recommend you all join) and help the UN. Now, it didn’t go as expected because my team and I didn’t win. I’m not going to sit here and act as if it didn’t hurt when I saw we didn’t win because I spent hours at 1 am coding to track every single cattle in South Sudan. But, I got so much to learn from this experience. I met with professors in university, researchers ( who wanted my maps), built friendships with my team, and had a lot of fun. I don’t know if it’s just me but one of my favourite things to do is to code until 3am on a random day for a project that I truly believe is for a good cause and that is cool.

I hope the UN has found good maps in order to improve this problem. Although it feels like a fail to know that the UN won’t specifically see the maps my team and I built, it just gave me more motivation to work on these real problems and to crush the next ones ( 100x more work, more creativity, better code, better maps than this one)

3D CAD

I had a meeting with a robotics professor to show him my robots in order to get feedback. He loved it, but he told me one peace of advice that stuck to me : “3D print it”

I’ve never been big on CAD and 3D printing, but it doesn’t mean I won’t. For every robot I’m building in March, I’ll be 3D printing it in order to build important skills.

Medium

I believe that you can make any resolutions any day of the year, not just the 1st of January. So, my resolution is to post 2 articles every month of something of my interest.

This month, I published 2 medium articles ( one about my video game, and the other about the Mars Rover)

When I mean 2 articles, I’m talking more about research ones that are long, have heavy math and physics, and that I can make it sound clear so even beginners can understand them.

I’d like to write more articles on stars, speed of light, black holes…

Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson

To be honest, when I spend my time on YouTube shorts, I always run into Dr. Neil and I’m glad I am since he has sparked a new interest and hobby of mine, astrophysics. He has change my perspective on the universe, on the speed of light ( did you know that if you were 100 light years away from earth, you’d see earth from 100 years ago? Or that you could travel to the moon in 1.3 seconds with the speed of light ( 300,000 km/h) or that it would take approximately 2.5 million years to go from earth to our closets galaxy, Andromeda Galaxy)

These fun facts actually fascinate me so I’ve decided to spend more time researching. For March, I have the goal of writing articles and hopefully start one research paper on a topic of my interest relating to astrophysics. February was the foundation, the base. March is where I start to dive deep into this fascinating world. And before you say, I thought you wanted to just do robotics, then stop right there. I don’t just want to do robotics, although it’s my favourite passion. I also want to do other things like space, astrophysics, coding, robotics. They’re all completely different fields but at the same time, they all tie back to one specific theme I believe all my work ties back to, How to use robotics for space exploration. I’m only 15 so it might be a bit far fetched to think all my work is related to one specific theme but it might also not.

Anyways, this new hobby of mine has pushed me to think about taking a minor in astrophysics. MIT’s Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research is my dream place on where to study this new burning passion of mine. But, I won’t wait it until I get there. I’ll learn and research and build, then try my best to go to MIT and to that specific place in order to meet professors and students as excited about the topic as me and that are super knowledgable so I learn new facts and new discoveries every day. One of my dreams would be to take a robotics major with a minor is astrophysics in MIT.

Start up - Building a drone

I feel as if I haven’t actually said much about my start up, so yes I’m the cofounder of a start up with a team of students. I’m part of the hardware team and right now I’m working with 2 other students passionate about robotics in order to build a drone that can perform search and rescue. I’ll try and put my 100% effort and get a lot of progress for the drone by March

Podcast

I feel it’s so cool that I have one thing I’m fully in control of, one thing that’s mine, a project I truly believe will be long term and that is valuable to me.

I believe that time is more important than money and I also understand that a single mother, a stressed out middle aged person, or a teen in high school don’t have time to check out every AI that’s built every day to see if it’s good or not.

So, I instead test it out. And before you say, you’re wasting your time so they don’t, I disagree. I believe that I’m not wasting my time because I’m doing something that makes me happy, helping other’s.

In fact, I feel as if in February, my Podcast has gotten better ( better quality, funner, more engaging, theme weeks…) I make competitions between AI’s ( most recent example : finding most accessible image generator ( I had to do a deep search in order to find an image generator that does images without paying a single cent)

I post in Substack every Saturday a new AI, so don’t forget it!

Anyways, that’s a wrap to this Time Capsule, the person of the month was Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson and my goal for March is to come back to Substack and write a newsletter showing my improvements ( 3D printed robots, medium articles, drone progress, internships cold emailing, and progress on Podcast “ Is it a HIT or a MISS?”

See you all in March!

I think this is the longest newsletter I’ve ever written in my life.

Thanks for reading! I went outside of my comfort zone and launched a Podcast, coded , built robots, and more projects.

Python 💻

I decided to code this project! I used python and when the camera detected that I moved to the right or the left, the servo would copy me! Last month, I got to work on a project regarding Microsoft, and right now for the United Nations. I’m excited to see what my team and I build and you’ll hear more about it in the February monthly newsletter… I’m also grateful for TKS since they offered everyone a great opportunity to learn in the real world and solve problems where the answer isn’t at the back of the text book.

Podcast

I was in Spain the 1st of January I believe. I was sleeping in a couch and thought to myself, what is something I could do that could help people? The idea didn’t come in a second like movies. After a lot of reflection, a lot of Paul Graham articles read, and brainstorming, I decided to make a Podcast on something that a user needs. Everybody in the world knows what AI is, but most of them only know Chat GPT. However, everyday there’s thousands of news AI’s that people don’t try out since they don’t have time out of their day to sit down fro 20 minutes and see if it works. So, I built a Podcast where every Saturday, I try a new AI and tell you if it’s a HIT or a MISS! Make sure to check it out on my Substack, here's my latest post.

FTC

During this month, my team and I went to 2 FTC Robotics Competitions and it was so fun! It was my first one ever and I learnt and participated so much. It was fun seeing what the other teams had come up with and seing our robot work from the start. In the back room, there were lot’s of troubleshooting in the code and engineering of the robot, but it performed well and I’m proud of my team.
<div I learnt to be much more grateful than I was. To complete this week, I had to do the following action items :

Waking up at 5:30 4x a week

Fasting 1x a week

Sleep on the floor 1x a week ( It was actually comfortable…)

Listen to 15 minutes of music you don’t like

3 cold showers

3 meals < 2 $

The hardest part was fasting since it made me realize how much I took for granted being able to go to my school’s cafeteria and eat lunch with my friends. Instead, I had to study for a french test with an empty stomach 😞 But! It taught me to be grateful and more resilient.

Reflection of the month

I feel like everyone always says this, but I can still do more. This month, I wasn’t very focused and it might not look that way from the outside since I do a lot of projects but I still feel as if I haven’t reached my potential. I guess everyone will always feel that way and there’s so much going on that I can’t just focus on 1 thing. However, I’ll make sure to lock in for February ‘26 and I’ll see you there!

Make sure you continue to learn, build, and have fun in February!

Thanks for reading!
